Walk & Wine

Wine Tours Canberra

WALK & WINE — Go on a picturesque one-hour walk in a local urban reserve, and finish by tasting wine on-site at the excellent Mount Majura Vineyard.

Consult with us about which of these reserves you’ll enjoy most.

Mount Ainslie

Highlights – Great city views. Gorgeous trees on the walk up, and encounters with kangaroos and parrots.

Track – Walk or drive to top – wheelchair access. Track through woodland is moderately steep and well maintained.

Barracks Creek/Mount Jerrabomberra

Highlights – Great example of local Scribbly Gum – Red Box forests in a serene hilly setting. Frequent encounters with Swamp Wallbies, Grey Kangaroos, various birds and (rarely) Echidnas. Some good views from up high, west to Canberra and north to Queanbeyan.

Track – Cross-country through the forest, mountain biking tracks. It is hard to avoid at least a moderate climb at some point, and there are some short steep hills if you enjoy that.

Mulligan’s Flat

Highlights – Rare Bettongs living in a sanctuary of regenerating grassy woodland with tree species typical of the region.

Track – Easy walking on well maintained paths through flat or gentle hills, with lots of encounters with kangaroos.
